The questions we hear most
Do I need an appointment?
No. Drive into either Reno location during open hours.
How long is a pass good for?
90 days, or 180 days on a Nevada dealer sale (Nevada DMV).
Will my car pass with the check engine light on?
No. On a 1996 or newer light-duty vehicle, a lit check engine light is an automatic fail in Nevada.
Can I renew my registration the same day?
Yes. The result reaches the DMV electronically, so you can renew online or at a kiosk right after a pass, or ask about renewing in the same visit.
Can I get an oil change too?
Yes. Both locations are inside an Xpress Oil & Lube Center.
