How a visit goes

Four steps, one bay

The same bays where Xpress Oil & Lube Center changes oil. Ask for both and get it all done in one stop.

  1. Pull inDrive into either Reno location during open hours. No appointment. Bring the vehicle and, if you want to renew in the same visit, your renewal notice.
  2. We scan the VINThe technician scans the vehicle identification number with a bar code reader, the first step the DMV lists for every test.
  3. The test runsOn a 1996 or newer car or light truck the analyzer plugs into the diagnostic port under the dash. The DMV says most of these tests take five minutes or less.
  4. Result to the DMVThe result goes to the Nevada DMV electronically, in real time. A pass is good for 90 days, and you can renew right away.

Reno South is at 4993 Longley Ln near the airport, open Monday to Friday 8 am to 5 pm and Saturday 8 am to 3 pm. Reno Northwest is at 6100 Mae Anne Ave, open Monday to Friday 8 am to 5 pm and Saturday 8 am to 4 pm. Both are closed Sunday and both are inside an Xpress Oil & Lube Center.
