Longley Lane sits in south Reno's business district, a short hop from I-580 and the Reno-Tahoe airport. That central spot makes it the closer of our two locations for most of Reno south of downtown, for Sparks, and for drivers coming up from Washoe Valley. It is also the location with the most smog check reviews on Google: customers there mention quick tests, friendly technicians and renewing their registration in the same visit.

Getting here
The map on this page and the Directions button open turn-by-turn routes to Longley Lane from wherever you are. By OpenStreetMap routing in light traffic, South Reno is about 5 minutes away, Southeast Reno and Hidden Valley about 8, Damonte Ranch about 9, and Sparks and Midtown about 10.

What happens when you pull in
Pull into the bay and tell the technician you are here for a smog check. On a 1996 or newer car or light truck the test is the OBD plug-in test: a VIN scan, a cable to the diagnostic port, and a reading the DMV says usually takes five minutes or less. The result goes to the DMV electronically before you leave.
Ask about renewing your registration in the same visit, and bring your renewal notice if you want to.
Diesels, motorhomes and big trucks
A Google review of this location mentions bringing an RV for its smog check. Large vehicles and diesels have their own test rules, so call (775) 828-6996 before you bring one.

What a customer said
I've been coming here for smog checks for like 10 years. It's always fast, the guys in the shop are awesome and let me hang out with them by my car. Aaron in particular is just a great guy. Top notch place for an easy smog check!
