Which service center to use

Use the one that is easier for you to reach: Reno Northwest at 6100 Mae Anne Ave or Reno South at 4993 Longley Ln near the airport. Both do the same smog check, and the result goes to the DMV electronically from either.

Reno is spread out, and the easiest location depends on where you start. These answers help you decide in a minute.

Are the two locations different in what they do?

No. Both are inside an Xpress Oil & Lube Center, both take drive-ins, and both send the result to the Nevada DMV electronically.

Where is Reno Northwest?

6100 Mae Anne Ave, Reno, NV 89523, phone (775) 787-1000. It is the one for the northwest side of town, and the Reno Northwest page has details.

Where is Reno South?

4993 Longley Ln, Reno, NV 89502, phone (775) 828-6996, near the Reno-Tahoe airport and I-580. The Reno South page has details.

How do I find the closer one?

Our town pages give drive times to each location. Start with Reno or Sparks, or browse the service areas.

Do the hours differ?

Weekdays are the same, 8 am to 5 pm. On Saturday Reno Northwest closes at 4 pm and Reno South at 3 pm. Both are closed on Sunday.

I live in Spanish Springs or Cold Springs. Which one?

Check the drive time on your town page and pick the shorter one. The times are for light traffic and are a guide, not a promise.

Can I test at one and renew at the other?

The result goes to the DMV electronically, so it is on file wherever you tested. Renewal itself is a DMV process that you can also do online or at a kiosk.

Which one has the better reviews?

Google reviews of the Xpress Oil & Lube Center at Reno Northwest show 4.6 stars from 210 reviews, and Reno South shows 4.8 stars from 340 reviews, read 10/19/26. Those are the shared listings for the host business.

Should I call first?

A call is optional, and it is useful for hours, for a large vehicle, or to ask how the line looks. Reno Northwest is (775) 787-1000 and Reno South is (775) 828-6996.

How will I know I am in the right place?

Look for the Xpress Oil & Lube Center at either address. The smog check center is located inside it, and the crew can point you to the bay.

Can I switch if I find the line is long on arrival?

You can drive to the other location, which is also inside an Xpress Oil & Lube Center and takes drive-ins. A phone call before you leave is the easier way to check.

A quick rule of thumb

If your day takes you along the northwest side, Mae Anne Ave is the natural stop. If you are by the airport, I-580 or south Reno, Longley Ln is. For the rest, open the town page nearest you and compare the two drive times.

Whichever address you choose, the result is filed with the Nevada DMV electronically, and the crew at either location can answer questions about what happens next. If you are coming from out of town, check the Spanish Springs, Washoe Valley or other town pages for the drive.

Both locations are on the same footing for your visit: drive in during posted hours, no appointment, and the result goes straight to the DMV. The choice is about your route, nothing else.
