Most cars and light trucks from 1996 on get the OBD plug-in test, which the DMV says usually takes five minutes or less, and older or heavy-duty gas vehicles get the tailpipe test. Your result goes to the DMV electronically, so you can renew the same day. One reviewer of this location came in for a smog check and a registration renewal in the same stop. Bring your renewal notice and ask. ## Saturday mornings Saturday hours here run 8 am to 4 pm, the longer of the two locations. If your week is full, Saturday is when many people fit in the yearly test; call (775) 787-1000 to hear how the line looks before you drive over. ### Sources - [dmv.nv.gov/emission_obd.htm](https://dmv.nv.gov/emission_obd.htm) (Nevada DMV: OBD test steps, five-minute tests, real-time results; read 10/19/26) - [maps.google.com/maps?cid=1872620054928035170](https://maps.google.com/maps?cid=1872620054928035170) (Google listing of this Xpress Oil & Lube Center: hours, rating and reviews; read 10/19/26) ### Reno Northwest smog check - Call [(775) 787-1000](tel:+17757871000) Mon-Fri 8 am-5 pm, Sat 8 am-4 pm, Sun closed - Address [6100 Mae Anne Ave, Reno, NV 89523](https://www.google.com/maps/dir/?api=1&destination=6100+Mae+Anne+Ave%2C+Reno%2C+NV+89523&destination_place_id=ChIJ3dFA7yBEmYARYg1CtQTi_Bk) [Located inside Xpress Oil & Lube Center](https://xpressoilandlube.com/) [Directions](https://www.google.com/maps/dir/?api=1&destination=6100+Mae+Anne+Ave%2C+Reno%2C+NV+89523&destination_place_id=ChIJ3dFA7yBEmYARYg1CtQTi_Bk) ### What a customer said Reno Northwest Fast service, especially for getting your smog done.
